Going Green!!!

Posted in Uncategorized, Weddings on November 6th, 2008 by Jenna

Green weddings have been huge among brides lately.  Here are some photos from one of my most recent weddings.  Liisa’s colors were clover green, ivory and chocolate.  We used a mixture of flowers such as hydrangea,  ornamental kale, liscianthus, trachillium, hypericum and fiddle fern.

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Which lady will be next???  A toss bouquet of ornamental kale will determine!

Liisa was exceptional to work with and she truly had a style all her own.

Inspirations!!!

I recently took a trip to Vermont and New Hampshire when the fall colors were at their prime!  The artist in me was inspired by all the fabulous colors and I gathered many good ideas to add to my mental library of design inspiration.

New England style architecture was everywhere!  The towns in the countryside all had a picturesque white chuch at the center of town.  Oh what I wouldn’t give to design a wedding at some of these romantic spots!

Covered bridges also known as “courting bridges” were common in a traditional New England village.  They reminded me of Anne of Green Gables. All the hopeless romantics reading this blog can dream of Gilbert Blithe riding his bicycle up to you on the covered bridge.  The rest would be history!

More beautiful country settings to have a wedding!

Vintage Chic!

Here are a few pictures of the flowers I did for the wedding of a talented local photographer.  Her wedding was on September 27 at her parents Lake Coeur d’Alene home.  The very organized bride came to me with well-defined tastes!  Her colors were “duck egg”, chocolate brown and sunset colors.  She loved the vintage chic look with contrasts between natural and glam.

As you can see, we set the bouquet in a “nest” of grapevines surrounded by a halo of chocolate brown feathers.  So many textures!

For her boutinnieres, we even added some vintage buttons and feathers to make them little pin-on “works of art”!

Stay tuned for more photos from this wedding!

This wedding was so much fun! The Bride, Stephanie, was wonderful to work with and her taste lent itself well to my fresh, fun design style. More pictures of this wedding will be posted on my website soon.
